I am a wife, mother, daughter, and writer. I am also a woman of faith.
I live in southern California with my husband and our children. I love to entertain and work in my garden, play golf and tennis, and ski – water and snow. I also enjoy spectator sports, especially watching my teenagers participate in their team sports. I love spending time with my family and friends!
I’ve been known to cry at movies, laugh at silly jokes, and pause to admire a spectacular sunset.
My first attempt at self-publishing, a construction-paper booklet bound with ribbon, was a collection of poems I wrote for my grandmother, Pauline Hovarter. I was in grade school at the time.
I have always enjoyed reading and writing.
My passion for writing led me to join the Blogging Team at Saddleback Church in Southern California where I researched and wrote for the Women’s Ministry and the Internet Campus. I currently write for the Storyteller’s Ministry at Saddleback. In addition to participating in on-campus studies, I assisted in the design and piloting of a Family Life Connection Group bible study, and served as a Small Group leader. I am also a contributing writer for The Orange County Register.
I was born and raised in the Hoosier state! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I am currently enrolled in the Writer’s Program at the University of California, Los Angeles, to extend my education, strengthen my writers voice, and network within the literary community.
